Charlie Daniels on Don Imus

Charlie Daniels on Don Imus : Great American Country
April 13, 2007 — Charlie Daniels was at a Nashville bookstore Wednesday night signing copies of Growing Up Country, a compilation of essays on the subject that he edited.

Since Charlie has been accused of political incorrectness once or twice WKRN's Brad Schmitt asked him about the Don Imus controversy.

'I am very dead set against what Don Imus said,' Charlie said. 'I think it's terrible.'

But, he added, the critics of the radio personality should cast a wider net. 'While we're at it, let's get with the rappers, let's get with the other people that say things like this with impunity,' he said. 'If we're gonna persecute one guy, let's persecute 'em all.' "

I would just like to say I totally agree. My husband and I were talking about this and we both believe Mr. Imus was out of line with his comment. On the other hand you have people of all different races making the same comments about there own race and thats acceptable? Whats good for one should be good for all no matter who you are.

I would have to agree what he said was in poor taste. But we live in a free country, and are able to say what we want.We have good americans dying every day for this right. And to think that those good people are giving their lives for us and those freedoms. and we can't say words, words do not cause the problem. it is the way they are taken and how long are we going to have to walk on eggshels and tiptoe around these isseues. I know the times are changing and some things take longer than others. It is time for a change, and change is comming. Now there is no reason that Don lost his job. no matter bad he is. I am not a fan of his , so I take my liberty to change the channel if don't like what I hear. No one is making you listen to a perticular program, turn it off if you do not like it.
Race is everything the HUMAN RACE is what we should be concerned with. And the way we are going I think we are going in the wrong direction by deviding and not joining together on this wonderful planet we have been given. It looks like we will be starting from scratch again in a few years.
we are our own worse ennmies.
